So tired

Today has been busy, I saw the neurologist this morning....he upped my inderal to see if the other headaches respond or not.

Basically he isn't so positive that these are or were PTC headaches but we are pretty sure I was also having migraines since the inderal controlled the left sided headaches, not the right and the back of the head and neck ones have been much much worse.

I go back again in 5 weeks to see how the increased dose of inderal works and after I have seen the Neuroopthamologist and the Neurosurgeon again. I will also be having my reports from my knee sent to him as well since he I told him about the orthopedist appointment that's next week.

My itinerary to get through the next appointments

  • Chiropractor 1-2x per week
  • July 22, Orthopedic Surgeon for Knee
  • July 30, Pulmonologist for Sleep Apnea
  • August 4, Neuro-Opthamologist for PTC-Chiari optic nerve damage check
  • August 18, Neurosurgeon Follow up
  • August 22, Neurology follow up

School, Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays starting August 11

I think I am going to need a vacation.

A New Doctor, a New home

After waking up a couple weeks ago unable to turn my head and in so much pain that I just wanted to crawl under a rock; I got to thinking, I missed seeing a Chiropractor, while they could never get the headaches under control, I at least go some semblance of relief of the rest of the symptoms for a while.

The problem with seeing a chiropractor though, is that it has to be someone you trust, I will not EVER see a chiro without a personal referral....on Mother's day, my sister in law was talking about the way they planned on raising my nephew, in that conversation, she got to talking about taking him to the chiropractor at 5 days old. I asked more, since I didn't realize she was into natural parenting (BIL's ex, I certainly doubt would have been)
On Wednesday I ended up going to the office that she had been going to since she was little. Its a Father and Son practice, she saw the dad while a child, and thats who I saw, now she sees his son.

It was much different than what I remember a chiropractor appointment being. They talked to me, alot. Did Nerve and Muscle scans and x-rays.
I have nerve damage in both my neck and back and curves in places I shouldn't, but where I should, that part is straight...lots of misallignments. I will see him twice this week, three times next, and hopefully that will get be alligned enough to go weekly then twice a month. Thank God for Blue Cross, I get 24 visits a year, so I have 8 visits that I can spend in a shorter amount of time.

Hopefully he will be able to help more over the next few weeks as we get this taken care of, I am looking forward to maintainence, but I am more looking forward to this helping my leg heal somewhat faster than its doing.

As for Physical therapy, today was rough, my ankle decided today that it wasn't going to cooperate with motion and has been kinda painful ALL day...we worked on lots there too.

We also got our park approval today. We are MOVING. I am so excited, I think we will aim to close in about 2-3 weeks. That will give me a good amount of time to get some packing done. I am so thrilled. It was a good day all the way around.

Lets Get it done

I am proud of myself, We ate at home today, I followed my menu plan (I am really bad about those), but I NEED to stick with it right now since we just lost a days worth of pay.

Tomorrow we are kinda taking a day off of school to clean the kitchen and livingroom. My mother in law will be here on Tuesday and it must be done before she comes. Its not going to take us all day, but I will reward Lauren for what gets done since she will be doing most of the work. We call it Home Economics, since she gets to help cook as well as clean. I was never taught those skills so I feel that these days are almost more important in our school days.

I found a really cool step by step how to clean here
that we have been using. It has made it a LOT easier to get through even though it takes us more than 15 minutes per room.

Our goal is not perfection at this point, but rather comsistency.

Now Mother in law wont say anything about my house because of my health at this point, but I would rather have it very VERY presentable for her anyhow. She is coming to take me to my MRI's on Tuesday morning, I have to be in Downtown Detroit at 8am, that feels SO early since the original appointment was scheduled for 8:45am.

I will get the results at my May 12th appointment, It seems eons away but I have to remember I have to see the Neuro-Opthalmologist first, and I see him May 5th.
